Orange Crystals On Wood In Attic

There are on some but not all of the beams.

I am guessing it is a preservative but all the literature says that the copper preservatives are green in color and these are definitely bright golden copper color and the only references to preservatives that use particles say they are much smaller in size than these. Just tree sap mostly from the heat in the attic. There is also another substance that this could be which is not mold it s sap crystals that have been extruded from the wood due to high attic temperatures. As with all other types of mold orange mold grows wherever there is moisture heat and a food source however orange mold differs from other types because it is more likely to grow on wood than other organic materials.

We see more of this sap staining when the wood used for framing was not kiln dried before construction. What causes orange mold. Apply pressure and gently chip away at the sap until the crystals begin to pop off. Does anyone know what these orange things are on the attic wooden beams.
